Not eating dairy and missing cheese? No prob! This Chive and Garlic Cashew Cheese has only five ingredients but is fireworks in your mouth.
Chive & Garlic Cashew Cheese | Real. Simple. Vegan.
- 1/2 cup raw cashews
- 3/4 tsp garlic salt
- 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 1/4 tsp water
- 2 tbsp finely minced chives
Boil cashews for 30 minutes.
While the cashews are boiling, mince the chives.
In a food processor, purée boiled cashews, nutritional yeast, water and garlic salt.
Once puréed, remove mixture from food processor and place in large bowl.
Add the chives gently by hand with a spatula.
Cover the cheese with plastic wrap and chill in fridge for 30 minutes.
Once chilled thoroughly, form your cheese into a wedge or ball.
Do not put chives into the food processor as it will change the colour of your cheese.
Form your cheese after it has been chilled in the fridge. The cheese will be too sticky to form before it’s been chilled.
